To use the neti pot:
1. Put 1-cup warm (not hot) water in your pot. Add ¼ teaspoon of non-iodized salt and stir well. Without salt or with too much salt, the water will not match the chemistry of your nose and will burn.
2. Lift the neti pot up to one nostril. Tilt your head towards the opposite shoulder so that your other nostril is lower.
3. Slowly tilt the pot upwards so the water begins to flow through your nasal passage and out the other nostril. You should see a stream of water coming out of your nostril.
4. Remove the neti pot from your nose and blow your nose to get out excess salt and water.
5. Repeat with the other nostril.
