Europe’s biggest annual soccer tournament has come down to the very end, matching Spanish La-Liga powerhouse Real Madrid with English Premier League side Liverpool in Kiev to see who will claim the title of Europe’s best team. This year’s matchup is highly anticipated as Liverpool, led by Egyptian phenom Mo Salah (who has scored a remarkable 45 goals in all competitions this year) faces off against debatably the best player in the world and household name Cristiano Ronaldo.

The game will most likely be decided by which team can control the other’s deadly attacks. Liverpool’s front three Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Salah have combined for 45 goals in league play alone, almost double Real Madrid’s 28.  Goals will most likely not be the concern of Liverpool as they enter this match. After conceding 6 goals to Roma in the semi-finals over two legs and narrowly advancing, it will be interesting to see how they deal with Ronaldo and his attacking presence. The same is true for Madrid; they must find a way to stop Salah and Liverpool front three if they want any chance at victory in Kiev.

Real Madrid also has something else that will help them. Real is coached by an experienced coach Zinedine Zidane, who has won two Champions League finals already, and Real’s team is filled with players who have played in 3 of the last 4 finals.  Liverpool’s Coach Jurgen Klopp has reached the final once before with German side Borussia Dortmund and came up just short, losing in the final moments to Bayern Munich. So it seems that Madrid will have the upper hand and everything to lose.

Whether Liverpool wins and brings the trophy back to England or Real wins for the third year in a row, it will be and exciting game pitting two electrifying clubs together.
