Community responds to protest
Neo-Nazi group marches on campus

The neo-Nazi group, “Blood Tribe,” travelled to Little Rock and gathered on the sidewalk in front of the school Saturday, Dec. 6. Dressed in black and red attire and wearing face coverings, they carried banners featuring Swastikas and an additional banner with the phrase, “Race mixing is communism.”

The protest members started at the State Capital and marched to the front of campus as their final location, chanting “White Power.”

They were in front of the school for less than an hour. During their exit, about 20 members piled into the back of a UHaul but were stopped on I-440. The group was not detained for the content of their protest but rather for a driving violation. Arkansas Law prohibits citizens riding in areas not designated for passengers, under code §27-35-104. The driver, from Indiana, was issued a citation and the passengers were told to find other arrangements.

Community members have taken to social media to voice their concern. The president of Little Rock’s NAACP branch, Maree Hollowell, condemned the group’s actions.

“What happened on December 6 was not just a protest; it was an act of intimidation rooted in hate.”

According to an email sent by Principal Nancy Rousseau to students and families, she stated that the views of Blood Tribe do not reflect the values of the school.

“I want to assure you that this group did not interact with students or staff, caused no damage, and their actions were limited to standing briefly on public property to take pictures. Their ideology and behavior do not reflect the values of our school or our district.”

Rousseau also arranged for the school’s campus to have additional security on Monday, Dec 8.
