Checkmate: Chess Club Members Compete in In-School Tournament
Mr. John Madlock, sponsor of the school’s chess team, hosted a tournament among the team players March 4. Junior Eric Cromwell was the champion with 11 tournament wins. Sophomore Hector Martinez and senior Michael White each had eight wins to tie for second place. The team practices Mondays – Thursdays at 7:30 a.m. in the cafeteria.
