The golf team has gotten ‘into the swing of things’, with three tournaments resulting in two wins against Sylvan Hills and Ozark, and losses against Cabot and Lake Hamilton.

Team members had to travel for their matches, as there have been no golf matches in Little Rock since the season has begun.

The way a golf tournament works is as follows: the coach will rank his top players first and then on down. Each ranking has three players from the three other schools in it, and those are the players who the golfer competes against. The players picks friends to keep his or her score, and then everyone plays nine holes and tallies up the scores.

The top rated players for Central in the last Sylvan Hills tournament were seniors Will Thompson and Paige Raborn.

This year the golf team has added a couple of new members, and even a new coach, Matthew Dean.

“This team is the greatest Central golf team ever compiled together,” senior  player Will Thompson said. “The coaching is better than ever, and it feels like we are really having fun together”

The golf team has gotten off to a good start and is looking forward to many more victories as they continue to have tournaments.
